On Nintendo’s official Japanese site, all Wii U models’ “production is coming to an end soon.”
This news came to us in November, but we waited to see if the production would stop anywhere not “within Japan.” However, news has not struck. This is still the beginning of the end for the console, as if the roots of a tree dies, the branches are soon to follow. We only have three months until the Switch is released and I think that Nintendo realizes that. They’re going to start Switch production soon, so why waste money on the failing Wii U.
This also explains the lacks of games for Wii U owners until The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo isn’t making games, simply because they’e not making consoles anymore!
